A few years ago, I was invited to be the leader of the graduand procession at the graduation ceremony of Chung Chi College. Leading graduands to the College Chapel, as a College tradition, is a great honour and truly meaningful for me. During the graduation ceremony, teachers, students, and guests read the Bible, pray, sing the College Anthem, review the unforgettable anecdotes of university life, and celebrate the graduation with joy and happiness! The College motto “In Pursuit of Excellence” originated from Daxue (The Great Learning), a Confucian classic. Having precious cultural implications, the motto means relentlessly striving for perfection and cultivating moral integrity. It is hoped that graduates can persistently inherit the Chung Chi spirit, empower themselves, and pursue excellence!
