Building a start-up is a shared dream of many people. There are a lot of people striving for it, although it is tough. On the one hand, entrepreneurs have to develop the products and their teams well; on the other hand, they need to obtain funds and explore the market. Majoring in Integrated BBA, Miss Cheng Lai Ying Mimi has been actively participating in many start-up competitions and support schemes, including the Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Incu-Tech of the HK Science Park, Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) of the Government, etc. CapMi, a startup co-founded by her, has won a funding of nearly HK$1.3 million from Incu-Tech last year. Having financial support is important, however, what is learnt in these competitions is a more valuable gain to Mimi.
