Love one another as I have loved you.

Dear all,

Greetings of love and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. What a great blessing to recall God's gifts of love and peace this morning as I pen these few words at the start of this academic year 2021-2022. God manifested His unconditional love by sending His only beloved Son Jesus Christ into this world. God also created each and every one of us in His own image and likeness no matter what religion, nationality, language we speak. At the same time, love was also Jesus Christ our Lord and master's parting gift to us human beings His children before His suffering and death on the cross during the washing of the feet of His disciples. The Gospel of St. John 13:13-15 says, "If I then your Lord and master, have washed your feet, you also must wash one another's feet. I have just given you an example that as I have done, you also may do" . Allow me to use these Scripture words of Jesus Christ as a reflection for all of us in my message. In fact, our world is fast moving, sometimes we just cannot chase after the changes. We, as human beings, are so busy and pre-occupied with numerous things. We have so many concerns and plans for our future. Sometimes, we are blindfolded and may not really focus our life on Jesus our only Saviour who gave Himself for you and me. Sometimes, We tend to forget where our real life comes from. Especially in this consumerist world, we can be chasing after the worldly issues and trying to find meaning in our life elsewhere. However, during my annual retreat this year, I was inspired in my prayer and meidtation to re-focus my life on my Lord and master Jesus Christ who washed the feet of His disciples to teach them what real love and service means. He humbled himself to serve us His children and taught us what real love means by sacrificing His life on the cross.

It is really time for all of us to look at Jesus our Lord and master and learn from Him to love and serve one another by sacrificing our time and energy. Let us learn to be instruments of love and peace-makers in our home, in our workplaces, in our society and in our world at large. Let us learn to focus our attention on Jesus who is the best and perfect example who is the way, the truth and the life. Nothing is hidden from Him as He is the son of God the Almighty and He penetrates into the depths of our hearts and knows who and what we are. In the Gospel of St. John Ch 10:14, Jesus says, 'I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father. Because of this life I give my life for my sheep'. Yes, dear all, it is the only way we can give ourselves generously, which is by imitating our good shepherd and His unconditional love and sacrifice in giving ourselves without counting the cost. I wish each and every one of you and your family members good health and God's blessings of love, peace, and hope be with you all. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
